BIG FOCUS on POST Greenland's stamps
P r e s s R e l e a s e
Denmark is the most important market when it comes to collecting Greenlandic stamps. Consequently, POST Greenland participated in Denmark's biggest annual stamp show, "Stamp, Letter and Postcard Fair" in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, and "TAK16", the biggest stamp exhibition in Denmark this year, held in Birkerod.
Both in Frederiksberg and Birkerod POST Greenland's staff had their hands full, selling the most recent issues and chatting with our faithful Danish collectors who wanted to obtain the much sought-after Greenlandic stamps and collector's items.
Production Manager, Hjordis Viberg and Development Manager Allan Pertti Frandsen both represented POST Greenland at these two simultatneous stamp events.
- It was another big experience to particpate in the Frederiksberg fair, says Hjørdis who spent two very busy days at POST Greenland stand. She adds:
- There was a big focus on our most recent stamps. The collectors stood in long lines at our stand to purchase and talk to us. In addition, the new franking labels featuring beautiful Greenlandic photographic sceneries by Mads Pihl were extreme popular with our Danish collectors.
Allan Pertti Frandsen continues:
- Our new 2016 Year Pack, and our brand new book "Greenland's civil aviation history" turned out to be the most sold items. Finally, our new stamps depicting our Crown Prince family dressed in Greenland's national costumes was a big hit. Hjordis Viberg concludes:
- Also, our new stamp series "Greenland During World War II" is popular among the Danish collectors. Through 2020 this stamp series will depict the world war as seen through the Greenlanders' eyes.
