Press Release: Air Greenland ’s 50th Anniversary on Stamp
For more than a generation, Air Greenland has facilitated in transporting people and goods around Greenland . This year it is celebrating its 50th anniversary since the company first operated aircraft in Greenland .
POST Greenland and Air Greenland present, at a joint event on Monday 18th January, the new commemorative stamp, which celebrates the airline company’s first 50 years. The presentation takes place in Katuaq, Cultural Centre of Greenland, in Nuuk. The Press is invited to the presentation on the day, from 2 to 3 p.m., in the centre’s friendship room.
The artist behind the stamp, Ina Rosing , will also be present. Ina Rosing , the daughter of “Grand Old Man” of Greenland stamps, Jens Rosing, has, with the creation of this stamp, chosen her own individual creative path. During the presentation there will be speeches by Air Greenland’s CEO Michael Binzer, and Philatelic Manager Pertti Frandsen. Michael Binzer will, on the same occasion, introduce Air Greenland’s anniversary website.
It will be a splendid launch of Air Greenland’s 50th anniversary, starting off with the stamp and website presentation in Katuaq on 18th January.
